Silk, Stardom and Classic Style

There’s something incredibly powerful about wearing your own creations, especially when that creation is a 100% silk caftan that moves with elegance and intention. Recently, I had the joy and honor of donning my handcrafted garments while meeting three remarkable icons: Wayne Newton, Donny Osmond, and Sutton Stracke. Each encounter called for a unique interpretation of style, inspired by the personality and atmosphere of the moment - and each look spoke volumes.

Seeing Wayne Newton - "Mr. Las Vegas" himself - perform at the iconic Flamingo is always deserving of a look that honors his timeless glamour. For the occasion, I wore our mid-century modern-inspired silk caftan called Mid-Mod Floral that has a dramatic black base, adorned with vibrant, 1960s-style floral prints in bold reds, pinks and yellows. The silhouette was sleek and unbelted, allowing the silk to flow freely and effortlessly. The overall effect? We like to call it "Mad Men meets modern muse" - a balance of retro sophistication and fresh edge, perfectly in tune with the nostalgic magic of a Las Vegas legend.

For Donny Osmond’s dynamic show at Harrah’s Las Vegas, I drew inspiration from the intricate beauty of ancient Moroccan courtyards. My knee-length silk caftan that we named Kaleidoscope features a mesmerizing palette of pale turquoise, burnt orange, and earthy brown, echoing the patterns and colors found in ornate tile work. There was no embroidery - just clean, fluid lines and bold color-blocking that let the luxurious fabric speak for itself. The result was a boho-chic moment with a worldly sophistication. It was playful, graceful and perfectly suited to Donny’s vibrant energy.

When RHOBH's Sutton Stracke invited us to her annual Western-themed gala in New York City during Fashion Week 2025, I knew my look needed to blend couture elegance with country flair. I created a waist-length, bold, flowing silk tunic from our Turquoise Spider design and called it the Maharaja - a true showstopper - with intricate, paisley-inspired patterns in a stunning blend of turquoise, orange and red. The fabric danced with every step, creating a sense of artistry and effortless grace. Paired with blue jeans, a pair of matching Lucchese cowboy boots and topped with a black Stetson cowboy hat, it was both grounded and glamorous. Sutton loved the look, and her appreciation for fine detail made the moment even more meaningful.

Each piece was more than just an outfit - it was a conversation between color, fabric and occasion. Silk caftans offer a rare versatility: they are luxurious yet wearable, dramatic yet relaxed. Designing each look around the setting and spirit of the person made these moments even more special. With every fold and flare of silk, I felt completely myself.

Wearing your own designs are a celebration of your creativity, your voice, and your passion. Standing alongside legends like Wayne, Donny, and Sutton while wrapped in my own designs reminded me why I do what I do - to create beauty that moves, inspires, and empowers.
